While working in the area, EVS has noticed, the entire land of both tahsilsis depending on the chemical fertilizers.Varieties of Chemical fertilizers are used for increasing quantity of the food grains.

Soil is no longer regarded as a living system constituent who should be kept free of pollution by poisonous chemical agents. Consequently reducing its quality and eventually subjecting households to food insecurity.

Most of the lands have lost NPK (Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium)   as it is expected for the cultivation of the crops. This is the present status of the soil.

So, in order to maintain the health of the soil, EVS with the financial support of CRISIL FOUNDATION, CSR, Mumbai, and GREENYATRA is running the SOIL TESTING CENTRE at Mahalunga Village.
