Horticulture was initiated under Prevention of Land Degradation by Developing Agro-Forestry with Participation of Small and Marginal Land Holders and Tribal Communities (A Rural Livelihood and Environment Conservation Program).

25000 fruit and wild saplings are planted in Bhiwandi, Wada and Vasai tahsil of Thane and Palghar districts, Maharashtra.

The purpose of this initiative is to generate livelihood through Fruit plantation for the farmers and thereby conserve the environment and prevent land degradation.
